Krista Callery Keeler
Krista’s passion for art began at a very young age under the tutelage of her grandfather, Donald Parks (1925 - 2012), who was a very talented watercolor and stained glass artist. Don would spend countless afternoons teaching Krista how to draw and paint. Much like her grandfather, art became a passion for Krista.
Krista grew up in Hobe Sound, Florida, and like any local, the ocean became a major part of her life. Krista spends every free moment on the water, whether it be fishing, boating, kayaking or snorkeling. South Florida’s natural beauty provides the inspiration displayed in her artwork. Her passion is experiencing nature and bringing it back to life on canvas. The vivid colors of different species of marine life are emphasized throughout her acrylic paintings.
After receiving both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida (Go Gators!), Krista returned to Hobe Sound, where she has the loving support of her family, husband (also a Hobe Sound native), daughter, and Bailey, her Goldendoodle.
“Our local waterways and marine life are of vital importance to our community, it’s what I have always known growing up. My paintings are often of marine life and Florida landscapes that I have personally visited and appreciated; being able to recreate my personal experiences on canvas is my passion. I want my paintings to show the beauty of Florida’s environment.”
